We’re Always Excited to Welcome New Visitors
The first time at a church can be an overwhelming
experience. There are many new faces and a way of
doing things that may not be familiar. My prayer is you
will feel cared for. Our desire is to be an extension of
the hope and love that is found in Jesus Christ.
The information provided on our website is to let you
know who we are. If you have questions or needs feel
free to contact us. The office hours are Monday
through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 Noon.
Please don't worry about what you'll wear to church,
for we truly believe people should come to God as they are. You don't need to dress up to get his approval--that comes through Jesus' sacrifice. Once you walk in the doors, you'll see that the congregation has all types of people in all kinds of dress. While a few people in the church wear ties, this is optional.
When you walk in,
find one of our ushers and introduce yourself. They're usually stationed at the doors and Welcome Desk, and they'll show you where everything is. They'll help you find the nursery and Sunday school rooms if you have kids. Our ushers can also point you to the restrooms, sanctuary and fellowship area. If you have any questions about the service itself, the ushers are able to provide helpful answers.
Be sure to hang around after the service.
You'll have a chance to meet our pastor and many other people in the church. We'd also love to get to know you so you're a familiar face the next time you come.
What To Expect
When you come to join us for the first time,
one of our ushers will be glad to help you become comfortable. If you'd like, they'll help you find the nursery (which is fully staffed and safely run), restrooms, sanctuary.
During the service,
you'll hear our faith expressed in the songs we sing, prayers we offer up, scripture readings and our pastor's preaching. All parts of our service are grounded in the Bible, which we are committed to upholding.
After the service,
give us a chance to get to know each other. Say hello to our pastor and anyone else you see. We'd all love to hear your story and share ours with you.
No matter what your Christian background is (or isn't), we hope you'll join us on Sunday. Here at Evangel Baptist Church, you'll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone--including you. Our services start at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. every Sunday.

At Evangel, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. Our ministries come in all shapes and sizes. Please come and join us for worship.
Children Ministry
Our Children's ministry allows children to hear and rejoice while learning about good news of Jesus Christ. We seek to create a fun and loving environment for all Children. Children's ministry is available for all ages each Sunday morning at 9:30am. Nursery is also provided for all services each Sunday morning.
Youth Ministry
Youth ministry is available for all ages each Wednesday Evening at 7pm.
Men's Ministry
2x4 Men's Monthly Prayer Breakfast-Includes all men. They meet the 2nd Wednesday and the 4th Saturday of every month at a local area restaurant.
Ladies Ministry
B.Y.K.O.T.A.-(Be Ye Kind One To Another) A Ladies ministry for all ages. There is a time of devotions, fellowship, and ministry. They meet twice a month; the 2nd Tuesday at 10am and the 3rd Tuesday at 7pm. They also host Ladies Fellowships with devotions and refreshments.
Shunammite Ladies- Ministering to Widows thru fellowship gatherings to different restaurants, a Thanks/giving Dinner, Everybody's Birthday Celebration Dinner and several other events
Other Ministries
Rescue Mission-We minister at the Rescue Mission every 1st Thursday of the month at which time we hold a service w2hich presents music and the Gospel message. We also provide refreshments.
Tabitha's Closet- A ministry to help those in need of clothing and like items. The Closet is open Tuesday's 10am - noon or by appointment. Please call the church office at 301-733-6711. No requirements need to be met to participate.
